Ambassador’s Message

The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania to the People’s Republic of China in Beijing, among others, has the responsibility of promoting economic diplomacy, investments, tourism, and cultural exchanges. It also facilitates cooperation between various groups from both Tanzania and China and from other countries of its accreditation.

In that capacity, the Embassy is expected to collect and disseminate relevant information, monitor progress and advise Governments and stakeholders on various issues that would accelerate development in all parties involved in the multifaceted cooperation regime.

Of recent, the Embassy has experienced an increasing demand for information and resultant services. This trend is surely a logical outcome of the very successful Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit that was held in Beijing in November, 2005 with its set of resolutions forming the Beijing Action Plan (2007 – 2009). Thanks to President Hu Jintao’s eight point set of proposals that was endorsed by the Summit and incorporated into the Action Plan, Chinese and Tanzania entrepreneurs have come forth in their hundreds with a flurry of enquiries through which explore opportunities to benefit from facilities offered? in the proposals. Many more other Chinese have become increasingly interested in Tanzania’s investment opportunities and tourist attractions and for that they need to be provided with the relevant information on the spot.

Kept on its toes by these enquiries, the Embassy decided among other actions, to review and redesign its website to make it demand driven and responsive to the satisfaction of its visitors and other key stakeholders. It is my hope that in its present form after review and redesigning, the website is more informative and user friendly.

It is the endeavour of the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Beijing to promote people to people contacts and cooperation between Tanzania and China. It thus avails itself of the opportunity to judiciously and meticulously serve the Tanzanian and Chinese people who wish to forge such people to people partnerships participate in other ways that will take the historical friendship that has existed between Tanzania and China to new heights.

In the spirit of everlasting friendship between the people of our two countries, I wish to take this opportunity to invite Chinese entrepreneurs to take advantage of the favourable investment climate existing in Tanzania to start businesses and invest there.

I also encourage the hard-working Chinese people to try Tanzania as their leisure destination for their holidays. In view of Tanzania’s unique and little explored tourist attractions whose information in availed in this website, I assure them that a try will always stimulate a desire for a second visit which will also cultivate a culture of visits to the rare heavens that Tanzania offers.

Finally, we at the Embassy are very much open to receiving all kinds of support, advice and cooperation that will help us achieve the noble task of extending the historical relations of our two countries further to our peoples for the mutual benefit of the two sides. I will very much cherish such support, advice and cooperation.
